The fifth issue of RENOVATIONS: Beyond The First Year Of Grief’s Journey invites the reader to review his/her “achievements” over the course of the past year. In addition to looking back, the reader is encouraged to look to the future and evaluate what has been learned or even gained in the process of working through the labyrinth of loss. Offered is a list of ways in which the reader can reach out to others who have suffered the loss of a loved one.
In our final issue, Donna O’Toole – writer, counselor and storyteller – addresses the strength and courage you’ve summoned to arrive at the first anniversary milestone. Donna also touches upon resiliency, the combination of strengths that enable the grieving to rebound from loss. As in previous issues, we review several resources.
Also contained in the last issue of RENOVATIONS is a survey that invites the reader to respond to a variety of questions regarding his/her satisfaction with the newsletter and its effectiveness in providing support, information and encouragement during the past year. The responses gathered from survey recipients will be compiled and provided to you as a service of the RENOVATIONS program and Grief Support Services.
