AVENUES OF SUPPORT

The second issue of RENOVATIONS: Avenues Of Support Along Grief’s Way introduces the reader to the concept of securing support from others, and perhaps, more importantly, supporting one’s self through a long and challenging journey. In addition to articles about friends and family as supporters, RENOVATIONS offers basic information on bereavement support groups and lists other applicable resources that are available through community organizations and the world wide web.

In this issue, Vicki Lensing, a loss and grief educator, addresses the many avenues of support available to the bereaved and when and why it may be necessary to seek professional support. A short, yet persuasive article on the benefits of funeral pre-arrangement is penned by pre-need counselor Ken Holmes.

An insert contained in this issue invites the reader to submit a business reply card that offers an opportunity to request information about Advance Funeral Planning, the Purchase of a Monument, Coping with Grief, Lending Library Materials, and Community Support Groups.
